Not so Harmonious in Westfield. City Council sides with developer not residents over gas station. Spoljaric and Edwards vote against

The Westfield City Council once again chose to back developer over the current residents of the city when passing approval for gas station in a residential area. This does not bode well for the homeowners adjacent to the potential Aurora PUD by Chris White. On the bright side it seems that Cindy Spoljaric and Joe Edwards managed to represent the local residents opinion by opposing the approval. Continually being out voted 4-2 illustrates the we obviously need a more balanced representation of the people on the Westfield City Council. Keep this in mind when the polls open.

AURORA DEVELOPER TELLS US NO ON GAS STATION BUT IBJ SAY YES

At both meetings I attended concerning the new Aurora PUD plan, Chris White denied that a gas station would be potential tenant of Aurora retail at Grassy Branch rd and 38 Junction. This kind of retail would be facing property owners directly across hwy 38. This IBJ article references White trying to obtain permitting for a gas station at that location.

AURORA PUD PROJECT WILL HURT HOMEOWNERS

Aurora PUD is a large commercial/industrial/retail project that will have a negative impact on all surrounding homeowners and property. The impact will include damage to property values, heavier traffic, light/noise pollution as well as being an eyesore. We believe this real estate would be better suited for single family residential neighborhoods that compliment the existing residential properties as well as the recently developed residential.
